Every day, the team is in contact with clinicians worldwide. Using the comprehensive patient records you send them as a starting point, they design facially-driven smiles, put them through a comprehensive clinical quality control process, and communicate with you to achieve the right result for your patient every time. Behind the screen at the DSD Planning Center

As a member of the DSD Community, you will be familiar with the DSD Planning Center and the results they deliver. Products and services associated with this innovative division include: Clic guides, DSD Natural Restorations, DSD interdisciplinary planning, facially-driven implant design, Invisalign® Treatment Planning Service.

But what do you know about the people behind the smiles? We asked the team to tell us a bit more about who they are...

For starters, the team members range in age from 23 to 50, with an average age of 36. They’re a multilingual bunch and while the majority are native Spanish speakers, with 52% hailing from Spain and 39% from Venezuela, 9% of the team are Brazilian. This includes Drs Francis and Tatiana Coachman, who head up the team. Just like DSD Company, the DSD Planning Center team has an almost 50-50 gender split, with women edging out the men slightly at 52.7%.

The team is made up of varied roles and the people who fill them come from equally diverse backgrounds. 

📊 First up are the people who manage the administration side of things to ensure the smooth running of all operations – 5.5% of the team have a university degree in administration. 

🤩 Next are the smile designers, tasked with finding the ideal facially driven smile to suit your patients. Many of them bring transferable skills from backgrounds such as design and engineering, with 47.4% of the team having obtained an engineering degree. 

🦷 The final part of the team is made up of our clinical professionals. These are the people responsible for quality control on all your smile designs to make sure that they are clinically achievable and the optimal solution for your patient. 41.6% of the team are dentists and 5.5% are prosthetists. Job titles and disciplines include General Practice Dentist, Orthodontist, Prosthodontist, Oral Surgeon, and Esthetic Dentist Specialist. 

Further study and a determination for excellence is also a theme within the team, who have achieved Master’s degrees in fields such as orthodontics, implant prosthesis, esthetic dentistry, product design and industrial design. It’s something that is reflected in the work they do every day here at DSD!

And what about outside work? Well, when it comes to sport, 43.5% of the team play padel – with 13% conceding that they will play ‘only when necessary!’. They’re also a group of animal lovers, with 43.5% of the team owning a pet.

As countless other businesses have experienced this year, COVID-19 has altered not just the way we operate but where we operate from. Our top priority has always been to keep our team safe, and the changes implemented as a result of this year’s events mean that while 39.1% of the DSD Planning Center team normally work at our headquarters in Madrid, 60.9% are now most frequently based at home. 

One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is the team’s efficiency. Working together from wherever they are, they continue to deliver the same high standards of advice, support and reliable results that they always have done.
