Digital Smile Design
is renowned not just for its innovative concepts, but also for its courses. Over the years, we’ve built up a diverse and varied suite of educational experiences and we’re proud to offer our participants so much more than theoretical knowledge and clinical skills when they join us on a course.

There are options for clinicians and clinic team members, and knowledge of theory is complemented by vital hands-on learning. Whatever the course, it’s always a community-building learning experience that teaches cutting-edge concepts while participants network with like-minded professionals, spend time with Christian Coachman and the DSD team, and experience our world-famous DSD parties and events.

DSD Courses in 2020

2020 was planned to be a bumper year for DSD Education with our biggest number and choice of courses ever in a huge number of locations all around the world. We got off to a great start, hosting the inaugural Lite Dentistry course in Madrid and our first-ever DSD Coordinators course in Miami. In March, our community of DSD Masters and KOLs also came together for the memorable DSD Masters Meeting.

As the impact of Covid-19 became clear, DSD responded immediately by hitting pause on all our in-person events and implemented a varied program through

But that’s not all. Behind the scenes, we’ve also been working hard to prepare for the much-anticipated return of our in-person DSD courses. And we are more than delighted to announce that we’ll be starting in July, with our first all-Spanish Residency 1 to take place in Madrid.

Your safety is our first priority on our courses

As we all feel the impact of Covid-19 on every aspect of our daily life, we understand that you might have some concerns about the safety of attending an in-person course. We want to assure you that we are putting in place all the recommended safety measures to make you feel comfortable and protected – while still delivering the same great DSD experience.

Here are a few measures you’ll notice during our Residency 1 in July and all our future courses:

  • In keeping with guidelines, this course will have only a limited number of places, which is why we have opened it to Spanish-speaking attendees only. The number of participants will be capped at 36.
  • During the course, each attendee will be given a daily hygiene pack to use in addition to other recommended measures to minimize the risks of Covid-19. This pack will include 3 disposable face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer.
  • Social distancing will be maintained, and desks will be placed 1.5m apart from each other.

This upcoming Residency 1 will be taking place in our new DSD Auditorium at DSD HQ and there will also be several safety protocols in place to protect the safety of course participants as well as those who work in the building as we move around it and use the communal areas.

Measures in place in the building

Access via the main entrance:

  • Every person who enters the building via the main entrance will need to respect the signs
  • You will need to have your temperature checked
  • You will need to wear a mask at all times
  • There will be hand sanitizer available

Access via the car park:

  • You will need to wear a mask at all times
  • You are advised to go to the nearest bathroom to wash your hands before moving around the building

Use of elevators and stairways

  • You are advised to use the elevator to go up, and to use it alone
  • You are advised to use the stairways to go down. The aim will be for this to be one at a time, or if this is not possible, the minimum distance (2 meters) must be maintained between people at all times

Use of communal areas

  • As you move through the building and use communal spaces and areas, you will need to wear a face mask
  • Crowding will be avoided at all times and the minimum distance between people will be maintained
  • Touching or using unnecessary furniture or other objects will be avoided at all times (tables, chairs, sofas, decorative elements, etc.)

Use of bathrooms

  • It will be obligatory to wear a face mask at all times while using the bathrooms
  • Crowding will be avoided
  • You will need to wash your hands before entering and after exiting the toilet cubicle, using water and the appropriate amount of soap
  • You will need to dry your hands with the disposable towels and use them to open the door before throwing them in the garbage

To minimize the risk of infection spreading, additional cleaning and disinfection measures will be implemented to complement those already carried out normally. These will focus in particular on the reception area, bathrooms, elevators, stairways and garage.

The building management, reception and maintenance teams will be available to respond to any questions you might have and provide further information where necessary.

We look forward to seeing you (in person) soon!
