DSD Clinics are a connected network of clinics which have gone through intense Digital Smile Design training, use the DSD Planning Center and, as a result, are highly skilled in delivering outstanding smile designs for their patients. We are proud of the talented clinicians who are part of our family and share our vision of modern dentistry, future-proofing their businesses and differentiating themselves from the competition.
What did 2019 look like for the DSD Clinics? Let’s take a look!
DSD Clinics Managing Director, Juan J. Gomez explains: “2019 was an amazing year for the DSD Clinics, we have more than doubled the family and there are now 46 clinics.”
19 new clinics joined our network in 2019 and four are currently in the process of being constructed. These new DSD Clinics, in the cities of Toronto, Montreal, Charleston, and Oviedo, are being built from the ground up with a firm focus on the DSD philosophy and providing this experience for their patients.
This growth didn’t slow as we approached the end of the year either; in December the DSD Clinic team delivered six DSD Consultancies to train new clinics – in Spain, Brazil, Canada, and the United States.
We became an even more international family
Like our team here at the DSD headquarters, the clinic network is a global family. Our clinics now span 12 countries and over the course of 2019, we completed consultancies all around the world – just some of them took place in Spain, UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Croatia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Dubai, and Brazil.
And, as well as our Clinics network, we have also expanded our DSD Clinics team in Miami – from one to seven team members in a year.
We had many many many happy patients
Our network is growing and with it, so is the number of happy patients! 2019 saw the presentation of over 2,000 mock-ups across the DSD Clinic network. No matter how many are done, however, the life-changing impact of a new smile for a new patient is just as significant as ever: JJ comments: “Of 22 trainings this year, I would say that in 15 or 16 half the office was crying happy tears! In a recent mock-up it was the dentist that started crying, not the patient! The owner of the practice, he was the one crying at the result and the emotion of this life-changing process.”
Over the course of 2019, there were also around 22 new DSD rooms created in clinics to offer patients the full DSD experience, while over two hundred DSD Coordinators began their new role in a clinic.
We became even more connected
When you become a DSD Clinic, it’s not just the benefits like access to the best training and full use of the DSD Planning Center which really make all the difference. For new members, one of the most valuable aspects is the close and immediate connection with the rest of the DSD Clinics across the globe.
We’re proud of this international family and the connections between us, and in 2019 we made these links even stronger.
As well as regularly being in touch via our DSD Clinics WhatsApp group (in which there were too many messages to count!), in 2019 we also started running online monthly webinars with Christian Coachman and our DSD Clinics on a variety of topics. Themed by topics such as marketing, technical and clinical, these webinars give us one more opportunity to come together to develop the best strategies and continue to exceed patient expectations. One of the best things about being a DSD Clinic is this chance to share your experiences with like-minded and inspired dentists!
We celebrated success stories
Of the many success stories in 2019, one stand-out example is Helmi’s Dental Care in the Netherlands. Last year, clinic owner Dr Saghi Helmi, embarked on a total renovation to transform one of the floors in her office for DSD. With a private lounge for DSD patients, a fully-equipped and carefully illuminated DSD room – which is one of the best in the world – and her “catwalk of smiles”, she truly delivers a one-of-a-kind experience for her patients.
“Since she has opened her practice, no patient has said no to treatment. Everyone who has been in that room has accepted the treatment plan that we presented.” - JJ. Gomez
In 2020, it’s time to keep up this momentum; we know that our DSD Clinics network will only grow stronger as time goes on! If you would like to find out more about becoming a DSD Clinic, visit our website:
