The success of Digital Smile Design in a dental office doesn’t only depend on the dentist!

Our very FIRST DSD Coordinators Course

This was a truly special learning experience because it meant that for the first time ever, we hosted a DSD course not for dentists, but for dental staff! We were thrilled to welcome our participants to this exciting event in which they became the very first group of DSD Coordinators to receive this essential training.

Over the course of these two days in Miami, US, participants from all over the world joined us for a career-boosting experience in the DSD concepts with the talented DSD team, building up an enthusiasm which will keep momentum high long after they return to their own dental offices.

DSD know-how and invaluable experiences

Our jam-packed two-day schedule covered everything that a clinic team member would need to know about applying and working with the DSD concepts practically in their own dental clinic. It was vital training designed to provide the know-how and the practical experience to let them take ownership of the process and do so successfully. For example, some of the key patient journey milestones our participants learned how to manage included: 

1- How to put together comprehensive patient documentation

2- How to understand and do smile simulation

3- How to communicate effectively with the DSD Planning Center

4- How to manage a full patient case from start to finish

5- How to deliver an outstanding mock-up appointment

6- How to create high-impact emotional presentations

7- How to use the advantages of DSD to close treatment plans

8- How to upgrade cases in the DSD Planning Center for a fully digital workflow

9- How to build excellent relationships with patients and the office team

On Day one, Luken de Arbeloa and JJ Gómez explained what Digital Smile Design is and why the DSD Coordinator is such a vital role in the process, and then we heard all about how to take our patients through the all-important first appointment. We also learned about the value intraoral scanning and got hands-on with smile simulation. 

To give our participants the authentic experience of a DSD course, on day one we also held one of our legendary DSD parties as the perfect way for everyone to get to know each other a little better after the first intense day of learning! 💃🏻

On Day two, it was time to master the perfect emotional presentation. Our participants were able to practice the essential skills they need to create high-impact presentations which give patients an outstanding experience, and also learn how to order cases from the DSD Planning Center.

Our second day ended on a high with a live patient demonstration and first-hand experience of the life-changing power of a smile transformation through the DSD motivational mock-up.
